Hope Alive

Hope Alive started in the Spring of 2014 as the senior project of, then Reading High School student, Sterling Youngtrapp.  For his senior project, he wanted to open doors for the same message of HOPE which he had been given at Feet On The Street to be given to his fellow students at Reading High School.  The initial meeting was a success (watch the video) (check out our photos) in the eyes of students and teachers, and as a result, school officials opened the doors for us to continue doing an after school service once a month!  News of our monthly Hope Alive meetings has spread, and school leaders opened the doors for us in 2015 to hold our first Hope Alive gathering at The Citadel (Reading’s Middle High School for 8th & 9th grades). Our goal for Hope Alive is simply to connect students with the God who breathed life into them.  Our prayer is that through doing these after school programs they would know that there is in fact HOPE in this life, and THERE IS MORE to life than the hurts and the pains of living in a world which has been broken by sin and selfishness. We want to awaken their hearts to the reality that the God who created them loves them and because of His love, He has made a way for us to be free from sin and death.  We simply want to share the message that through allowing the death and resurrection of Jesus to transform us, we can live life with hearts full of hope, peace, joy and love instead of fear, despair, anxiety and selfishness.
